  • ALIX MUMFORD

I am a qualified teacher who has worked in education for over 15 years. During this time I have also acquired an MA in creative writing as well as a diploma in both Access Arrangements and a level 7 diploma in SpLD Dyslexia. Starting my teaching career as a Key Stage 2 class teacher, I subsequently worked as a specialist art teacher and later as an intervention teacher working with individual pupils and small groups. I worked with dyslexic learners at a drama school for two years and then worked for a number of local authorities in London as a specialist literacy teacher and assessor for primary and secondary learners. I have also delivered trainings in a number of settings - for schools, local authorities and most recently for the Centre for Inclusive Education (UCL). My particular area of specialism is the use of Assistive Technology to support students with literacy difficulties.

  • ANITA JANJUA

I have had over 20 years of teaching experience in inner London schools. I started out as a class teacher and also held the post of English coordinator, before becoming a SENCo in another school in a role I performed for 11 years. During this time I gained a lot of experience in teaching small groups of pupils who faced challenges in English and maths. I also attained a postgraduate certificate in autism and have supported pupils on the autistic spectrum as well as a range of other needs. I have worked for two local authorities as a specialist literacy teacher, both assessing pupils and working 1-to-1 with them. I have worked in both the primary and secondary sectors as well as specialist provisions such as a pupil referral unit, an ASC base and a speech and language base. I also carry out access arrangements for Year 11 pupils taking GCSEs. Throughout my teaching career I have designed and delivered training courses for teachers and support staff. In 2017 I completed an MA in SpLD (dyslexia).
